THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (Nov. 2, 2010) – Maritime freshman Zach Dietrich (Point Pleasant, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) was named the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC) Player of the Month for the month of October, released on Monday by Met Hockey administrators.
The rookie goaltender picked up four wins in MCHC action last month over Kings Point, Fordham, Suffolk and a shutout over SUNY New Paltz. Dietrich recorded a league-best 0.80 goals against average, while also leading all conference goalies with a 97.0 save percentage through the four games.

The Privateers return to action on Friday when they hit the road to face off against the Rams of Fordham University. The puck drops at 10:10 p.m. at the Ice Hutch in nearby Mount Vernon, N.Y.
